We specialize in organizational restructuring, interim management, IT support services, event planning and execution, implementation of strong profit centers, and financial management.
Interim/Transition Management
Unplanned changes at the senior management level in a not-for-profit organization or association can occur for a number of reasons, including the untimely death of the incumbent executive, a major illness, an unexpected resignation, or a termination. No matter what the reason, this can present a challenge for the board of directors and uncertainty amongst the staff team.
An experienced organizational management specialist can fill the void on an interim basis, and keep operations on an even keel while the board takes advantage of this opportunity to reassess and reevaluate the organization and its future and enter into a search process to recruit a “permanent” replacement. Depending on the wishes of the board, an Interim Executive can function as a “place-holder” to ensure that the organization continues to move forward; or, the Interim Executive can take on the role of a change agent to reorganize/restructure and make the changes that may have been needed but were not possible with the former executive, and help to ensure that the organization is in good condition for the new executive. No matter what the plan, a professional Interim Executive is an excellent choice to bridge the leadership gap in this stressful time.
Comprehensive Association Consultants (CAC) can provide an Interim Executive at the time of crisis, and can also be helpful in working with the board to develop a succession plan that can serve as a blueprint in case a crisis develops in the future.
Succession Planning
Without an organized succession plan in place, if an unexpected staff change occurs at the executive or senior management level, the organization can find itself in a crisis mode that will require substantial time and effort on the part of the board members in order to maintain basic operations.
Comprehensive Association Consultants can be helpful in working with the board to develop a succession plan that can serve as a blueprint in the event that it is needed in the future.
Strategic Planning
Does your organization have a Mission with clearly defined goals and objectives and action steps to help in their implementation? If not, a Strategic Planning exercise may be helpful. A written Strategic Plan can be a valuable tool during budget planning as well as in a periodic reassessment of the organization’s operations and staff roles.
Technology Support
CAC can help you assess your technology situation and make recommendations to better address your organization’s scope and program needs while being mindful of your budget, and we can assist in implementing those recommendations. We can also provide on-going IT support on a contract basis. Even for a well-resourced organization, sage guidance can help the organization distinguish between leading edge and “bleeding edge” technologies.
CAC can provide a full complement of technology services that include desktop support, infrastructure and network support, server support, mobile device support and web site development.
Event Planning
CAC staff have considerable experience in planning and implementing conferences, exhibitions, banquets and events of all sizes. We have organized and planned events ranging from 8-10 person executive committee meetings to staff retreats, seminars and educational programs, to full-scale major conferences and conventions with thousands of participants. These services are available on an ad hoc basis and can include: site selection; contract negotiation with hotels and other service providers; development of promotional materials; registration assistance, and on-site operational assistance.
